Pricecheck is offering an exciting degree IT apprenticeship covering three different areas - Systems, Software Development, and Data Analysis. This apprenticeship provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple teams, developing the skills and knowledge to build a successful career in IT. The role will give you exposure to key areas of IT within a fast-paced, innovative company. As part of the Pricecheck team, you will actively contribute to the day-to-day operations and the development of new systems and solutions.

What you’ll be doing

IT Systems

You will support in maintaining daily operations within the company, from managing our servers to solving more complex IT issues. The work is varied, and you'll need to think on your feet and approach problems proactively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide IT support to the wider Pricecheck team.
• Implement and maintain key systems across our offices and warehouses.
• Assist with both routine system maintenance and new projects as they arise.

Software Development

You will be working alongside our development team to create and improve software systems. You will design and maintain software solutions that drive operational efficiency and enhance business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on the design and development of new software solutions using various programming languages.
• Build user-friendly interfaces using JavaScript/React.
• Participate in requirement analysis, offering ideas and identifying gaps.
• Champion quality-focused approaches, including code reviews, unit testing, and defect discovery.
• Continuously deliver value by creatively using technology to solve business problems.
• Develop and modify existing software programs.
• Integrate existing software products and resolve platform compatibility issues.

Business Intelligence (BI)

You  will gain hands-on experience in managing and leveraging data to provide actionable insights that drive business growth. Working closely with data professionals, you'll help identify trends, explore commercial opportunities, and support informed decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain SQL reports using SSRS.
• Administer databases and manage SQL queries.
• Develop stored procedures for reporting and bespoke software needs.
• Manage company-wide dashboard tools using Power BI.
• Optimise and review existing SQL queries.
• Assist with testing and implementing new systems within the department.

About you

*         Minimum of A-level experience in Computer Science with view to complete a degree apprenticeship. 

*         Logical and methodical problem-solving skills

*         Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to all levels 

*         A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning 

*         Ability to follow instruction, working well as a team and demonstrating initiative

*         Organised, thorough and conscientious approach with the ability to multitask and prioritise
