In February, Lucy Roberts hosted two Pricecheck Careers Fair events at Sheffield Hallam University, speaking to students about the company, open opportunities, and giving employability talks to help them find roles once their studies are finished. She shares how it all went.
What were the Careers Fairs, and how did they come about?
Over the years, we’ve built a strong and collaborative relationship with Sheffield Hallam University. With the launch of their new Business School, we saw a fantastic opportunity to make use of their impressive new space by hosting two Pricecheck‑specific pop‑up careers events. These gave us a dedicated platform to connect with students, raise awareness of our roles, and showcase Pricecheck as a growing Sheffield employer.
What did you talk to the students about while you were there?
Throughout the Careers Fairs, we shared information about our graduate schemes and placement opportunities available throughout the year. We brought members of the Pricecheck team along to speak directly with students and offer real insights into their experiences so far. We also delivered employability talks twice daily, focusing on application tips and skills development to support students in putting their best foot forward.
How did the Careers Fairs go?
Both events were a great success! For our first time hosting a pop‑up of this kind, everything ran smoothly, and we were delighted to achieve full attendance at all of the employability sessions. We also received a high number of applications to review, which is a brilliant outcome and shows how engaged the students were.
Why are events like these so important for Pricecheck to organise and be a part of?
As a fast‑growing Sheffield business, it’s vital that we continue to position ourselves as an employer of choice for both graduates and placement students. Events like this help us strengthen our employer brand, build meaningful visibility on campus, and maintain the strong partnership we’ve developed with Sheffield Hallam University. They play a key role in attracting future talent and supporting the pipeline of skilled individuals who can grow with our business.
