The role as Warehouse Operative is hugely variable with fluency across the different departments in the warehouse, working across any of the multiple operational areas. To include Inbound, Picking, Consolidation, Outbound, Stock Control and Contract Packing. This can be largely dependent on areas of capability, strengths, business need and individual preferences where possible. Where you may secure a position in one area, it is possible you may be trained and moved to a different department to meet business need.
BEHAVIOURAL AND SKILL EXPECTATIONS
Our Warehouse Operatives are expected to demonstrate commitment to providing an excellent service to all stakeholders (office, warehouse and external). They will be inquisitive with regards to learning and promote our company core values at all times. In addition, they must demonstrate the following:
- Confident communicator
- Demonstrates adaptability – willing to learn and support where required
- Shares best practice with new starters, supporting with training on daily operations.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to operate at pace under pressure, whilst not sacrificing quality and accuracy
- Good time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Commercial awareness and understanding of business drivers
- Demonstrates good team work ethic, being flexible to support team requirements
- Proactive in using initiative; demonstrating a willingness to learn and develop skills to maintain reputation as a department/ company
